Somewhere between pulling nails and hanging drywall, I realized this was exactly where I was meant to be. With a family history in the local construction business, I guess you could say building is in my blood. There’s nothing more rewarding to me than taking a home plan on paper and bringing it to life one board, one beam, one detail at a time. From the beginning, I set out to do things differently. At Cameron Mitchell Homes, our mission is simple: build new homes in Eastern North Carolina with unmatched quality, honest craftsmanship, and a personal touch you won’t find with every builder. Meet Cameron Mitchell

I’ve always been a hands-on kind of guy. As a kid, I was constantly taking things apart just to figure out how they worked, then putting them back together (usually better than before). By my teenage years, I was spending summers framing houses alongside my two uncles, both seasoned builders in the Goldsboro area.
After high school, I spent several years in manufacturing and worked my way up to Quality Assurance Supervisor for Bridgestone. But my heart was always in construction. Over time, I noticed a troubling trend: too much focus on quantity and not enough on quality in new home construction. I knew I could do it differently and better.
I’ve lived in Wayne County my whole life, and I’ve built strong relationships with skilled subcontractors, trusted suppliers, and real estate professionals all across Eastern North Carolina. But the most important relationships I build are with my clients.
When I’m building a home, I take the time to truly get to know the people I’m building for. That understanding shapes every detail, from layout to finishes, ensuring the home is a perfect fit for their lifestyle. Hearing a homeowner say, “We love our new home,” is the best part of the job. That’s when I know we’ve done more than build a house—we’ve built something lasting.

When I’m not on a job site or meeting with clients, you’ll probably find me with my wife, Kelly, and our kids, Addison and Asher. We love hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors as a family.
